This was going to be a comic version of Dostojewski's "White nights" about a rather reclusive man in a big city, very melodramatic and reminiscent of steppenwolf by H. Hesse. I started this comic with a friend in Berlin, but after reading his script I decided not to carry on with the project because there was way too much dialogue; a simple conversation between two people strolling down a street took four A4 pages of text!
I was left with these development pieces which I really like. The style is fun and I intend to develope it into something some day. He was supposed to be hooked on serious pain killing drugs because he suffered from phantom pains after an amputation. I have included one version which was coloured, it was all supposed to be like this, the grey versions are, however stronger in my opinion, it is a style that I use whenever I produce a story-board or animatronic. Once again you can see that as a comic artist you are able to be an architect, interior designer and product designer, which is what I really love about the artform; just as a science fiction writer is not limited by science, I am not limited by functionality.
